NATIONAL Archery Association of Malaysia president Tan Sri Abdul Khalil Abd Mutalib has been appointed Chef-de-Mission for the New Delhi Commonwealth Games after Datuk Nadzmi Salleh turned down his appointment.
Nadzmi, the BA of Malaysia president, decided to turn down the appointment after suffering a mild stroke in Chennai last November.
Nadzmi, in a letter to the Olympic Council of Malaysia, cited his health and commitments as chairman of Proton Holdings Berhad for declining the appointment.
Meanwhile, former Asian Games gold medallist
Lim Keng Liat has been appointed as the Chef-de-Mission for the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore in July.
