It is not a surprise right that one day a Malaysian can own a Club in the British Premier League. We have read that a Malaysian tried to buy West Ham but was not successful. The Star reports that Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes acquires 66% stake in QPR by buying out F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone and former Renault F1 team principal Flavio Briatore and the tag is 35 million pounds ($58 million).
54 years ago the British is our boss and today celebrating our 54th year of Independence, we have a Malaysian controlling the stake in one of the British's (and the world's) favourite sports, soccer.
